Location: Kanyemba, Zambezi River, Zimbabwe
Client: Maturi Camp
Solar Array: 2Kw
Operational Parameters: This power system has been evolving over the years. It started off as a simple DC system providing power for the lights and charging boat batterys.
The system now boasts AC power for all the lodges, main camp and domestic quarters. The system powers low wattage fans and a larger vapour type cooling unit in the main camp area. Also powered are a DC freezer to store the days catch, boat battery chargers and outside lighting. The camp uses gas for cooking as well as a day freezer/fridge. For bathing the camp uses the abundant dead wood to power “donkey” boilers for instant hot water.
